Design a better Day ….

April feels like a good time to check in with myself and see how my year is going…. And I’ve needed to make some adjustments. Do you take the time to do periodic self-evaluations?  Ask yourself, how am I feeling? Is there something I can do to improve my health, relieve stress or simplify my life? What can I give up, allowing more time for more meaningful activities? Like family time, personal development, self-care, or passions.

Isn’t it interesting that April correlates with a time renewal, rebirth and even Spring Cleaning!  If you’re feeling just a little out of balance, I encourage you to take the time to reflect on changes that will enrich and simplify, empower and uplift your life!

Just today, I asked myself, “How can I design and build a better day?”  I realized that if I can do this, it will help me have a better week, month and even a year! 

Design and Build a Better Day….

  I have come to an awareness that my choices directly affect the mood and mode of each day of my life. The thoughts I think, the food I eat, how I move my body, how I nurture my mind and spirit, how I spend my time and how I treat others are all important decisions each of us make. Because of my journey,  I choose to be present and mindful as much as I can. It didn’t happen overnight. It took practice and focus. I began with a few simple things and then allowed my understanding to grow – on purpose!  The books I read, courses I take and daily practices I have implemented, have created a powerful awareness in me and helped me recognize the responsibility and privilege it is to design my life the BEST way I know how. This means that I am also continually learning and evolving as my understanding of myself and my desires develop.

I attribute much of my knowledge and wholehearted living to my study of and Faith in Jesus Christ, and to my journey with doTERRA Essential Oils. I am still on this journey but I see that each day is an opportunity to learn and choose happy!

My Day begins the night before….

  1. The night before – I decide what time I will wake up (usually between 5:30 and 6am) and what time I will leave the house in the morning and mentally review the schedule of the next day and set my alarm accordingly. (at least 45 minutes before I intend to get out of bed)
  2. Before sleep – Pray (Report on my day, ask forgiveness, commit to do better, pray for others, GRATITUDE) and read scriptures and sometimes a bit out of another GOOD BOOK.
  3. Oils – I already washed my face/teeth and layered lavender and Cedarwood on my face, neck and wrists. Oh, and Immortelle around my eyes and forehead. (oils on my feet as needed – On Guard recommended for Immune Support)
  4. I already drank water and took Terrazyme before bedtime routine

 In the Morning….

  1. ALARM off – Listen to Scriptures 10-15 minutes while lying in bed
  2. 10-15-minute Guided morning meditation while lying in bed / stretch body
  3. Roll out of bed to my knees for PRAYER (GRATITUDE, talk about plan for the day, ask for help, ask for guidance to do HIS will and help those who need it etc.…)
  4. Make my bed / Morning Hike when I make time for it 2-4 times a week
  5. Morning Hygiene routine / including OILS and Supplements
  • Frankincense and Grapefruit on my neck/chest
  • Balance on shoulders
  • Immortelle around eyes and forehead
  • Oils of choice on feet and in unscented body lotion or Coconut Oil
  1. Life Long Vitality Pack and oils of choice internally
  2. Serve Home or Family (do something for kids, home or husband before I leave for work)

I always allow at least 1 hour of travel for work – this gives me a buffer of time just in case it’s needed. I send love ahead to my clients and expect to have a good experience whatever the outcome.

The extra travel time also gives me time to listen to something for personal /spiritual development. I don’t listen to the radio but I do try to Listen for Who God wants me to serve or connect with. If I think of a name, I will try to text or call or plan to connect with that person right then if possible.  Our First Promptings are almost always Spot on!  And if anything- I’ve done something positive, increasing HAPPY in the world that day!

Sometimes I am not fully present with every step. On rare occasion I might forget a step. However, my intention is to honor myself each day as I follow through and set myself up for balance and success.

Most days are pretty dang good! And when they aren’t, I seek learning and appreciate the good days even more!

I understand everyone is at a different season of life. You may have little ones at home, or work weird crazy hours or working through some really tough things in life. But I will promise you, if you choose just a few things to focus on personally each day – You will see and feel a difference!
