Where are you going?

Part 1: Design the Life you Love

“If you don’t design your own life plan, chances are you’ll fall into someone else’s. And guess what they might have planned for you? Not Much.” Jim Rohn

Many of us fall into a trap of anxiety, drama or even depression. For many , it may be a literal clinical chemical imbalance in the body and for those people and the rest of us who experience these feelings without a diagnosis, I believe and hope this article is still SUPER beneficial.

The truth is we need a plan. It’s hard if not impossible to create something you have not drawn out, first, in your mind. This type of “being” is an epidemic to our mind and soul and the world. It is a source of chaos and confusion. There is no safety and there is no peace here.

Some people may think a plan sounds too ridgid. But guess what – the beauty of having a plan is that you can plan for spontinaity and adventure~ and make it happen instead of just hoping it will happen. You get to choose to create space for it.

All you have to do is , Decide to begin and start where you are. I love Stephen Covey’s principle of “keeping the end in mind”. If we don’t know what the desired outcome is, how can we plan and practice towards it?

Ask yourself:

Who Am I?

Who do I want to be?

What is my mission?

What is my purpose?

What do I want out of life?

  • self
  • health
  • relationships
  • wealth

In order to evaluate these things, you must be willing to see who you are now and who you want to become. Determine your dreams and desires. It’s often easy to define what we don’t want and challenging to determine what we do want. This is because we mistakenly assume that we should be content with what we have , which is true in certain context, but for this purpose it is not. We forget to be like children; curious, ready for discovery, excited for new experiences and most of all, the ability to easily ASK for what we desire. In short , we forget to DREAM!

For example: under the self catagory , you might say that you want to be confident, humble and teachable. You might say that you want to achieve a certain academic goal, trade or skill. Ok let’s be specific – lets say , I want to write a book or become a public speaker.

What will this require of me?

You see, you have to be willing to behave in the direction of the desired traits and accomplishment. You must become vitally interested in your own progress and DO those things that will help you along this journey.

I challenge you to use these questions to draw out your life , your dreams and desires!
